hOw 2 make a deliciOus macarOon..


hazalnut macaroon
Ingredients

3 large egg whites
1/8 tsp salt
1 cup/150 g confectioners'/icing sugar
1 cup/100 g toasted, finely chopped hazelnuts
Method:

Preheat the oven to 300°F/150°C/gas 2. Butter a cookie sheet.

Beat the egg whites and salt in a large bowl with an electric mixer at high speed until stiff peaks form.

Use a large rubber spatula to gradually fold in the confectioners' sugar, followed by the hazelnuts.

Place the bowl over barely simmering water and cook, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the mixture starts to shrink from the sides.

Drop heaping teaspoons of the mixture 1/2 inch (1 cm) apart onto the prepared cookie sheet.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until just golden. Transfer to racks and let cool completely.
